Are you a Virginia Beach City Public Schools Employee?

We reiterate that no one wants to return to school, in person, more than the employees of VBCPS; but not at the expense of the health and safety of students, employees, and the community at large. The VBEA has been steadfast in maintaining that our union places the highest priority on the health and safety of our students, their families, and our school employees.

VBEA rightfully insists that our local school division listen to and address staff questions and concerns, and that a return to school should not be imposed until the division can guarantee the safety of students and employees. Only when it is safe to return to school, should the school division open its doors to face-to-face instruction.

"Unless they are willing to pay to protect the employees and the students, it's going to be very difficult to go back safely. We need those budget cuts reversed. We need the funding for PPE. We need the funding for solid leave policies that protect employees. Right now we don't have any of that." - Kelly Walker, VBEA President
