Members of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Beach Education Association came together for their annual retreat on July 24, 2014. The board reviewed the accomplishments of the association during the 2013-14 school year, discussed goals for the board for the 2014-15 year, membership goals, and general operations of the association.
This annual summer retreat gives the VBEA board an opportunity to spend time together, discussing association business, outside of the busy school year.
A large part of the board’s discussion was finding ways to benefit the education profession while working in partnership with the administration of Virginia Beach City Public Schools.
“The dedication of the our board is impressive. The input they brought to today’s retreat will guide the work of the association in the upcoming year, and it’s work we are eager to get started. I am very hopeful about the success of our association, and how our success will positively impact our schools,” said Trenace Riggs, President of the Virginia Beach Education Association.
