Legislation and Policy Advocacy

Our number one priority is to advocate for policies that provide the best possible working conditions for all staff in VBCPS. After all, our working conditions are our students' learning conditions. That is why you will find us speaking at school board meetings, writing emails, fostering conversations, and encouraging our members to engage in the political process.

As education professionals, it is important to understand the impact decisions made by elected officials have on our schools, classrooms, and families. That's why our union provides opportunities for members to organize and have a voice in local, state, and national elections through our associated political action committees. While we encourage members to contribute, volunteer for, and otherwise participate in efforts to elect supporters of public education, and the fair treatment of education professionals, it is important to note that no association dues dollars are used to support political candidates. It is also important to remember that political action committees associated with the education association are non-partisan.
